Ridding the Waters of Love

This week I had the lovely pleasure of writing a duet with a great friend! Shruti of A Shade of Pen & I have been writing for quite some time now … however, caught in the waves of life, it has been a while since we have joined thoughts and emotions and created poetry.
This is a Poetic Duet

“Riding the Waters of Love”
I am helpless when I see your smile
I melt into a puddle of love
As I stare at the roads ahead
I always see my steps synced with you

Here I stand, a forcible strength of will
Letting it all go and without hesitation
To tell you the words that ring through my soul
It is you whom I need, to have and to hold

Regardless of the storms that life will throw
I will hold your hand and bear it all
After all, it is sorrow that brightens “joy”
Just like it is you, who breathes “breath” into my life

We walk along the cobble stone paths
Air brushing our cheeks like summer warmth
These moments in time, with you by my side
Wash away all the rain inside of my mind …

Together we march like we have no care
Love, affection and happiness is in the air
I smile at seeing your beautiful eyes
Because in it, I see the reflection of my smile

Our mirror reflection in the water below
With you by my side, we will continue to grow
Only until we see the setting sun
Our time is now, things have only just begun..

I will sail with you to the end of times
And make you smile with silly rhymes
There is nothing that will hold me back
Together, we will grow old, hand in hand
